Marc CizekThe association is very sad to announce the passing of Marc Cizek on May 5, 2021. Marc and Bonnie Cizek had three daughters – Kelly, Sara, and Stacie – that competed for the Cornhusker Flyers Track Club from the late 1980s to mid-1990s. Marc and Bonnie officiated at many national meets over the years and also served on the local organizing committee for the 1999, 2002, and 2008 National Junior Olympics, hosted by the Flyers at Omaha’s Burke High School. Bonnie is the current Youth Chair of the Nebraska Association. Marc loved his family and the sport of track & field and will be missed. Obituary (5/11/2021)

Cindy DeSantiagoIt is with great sadness to report the passing of Cindy DeSantiago on January 27, 2019. Cindy was a long-time USATF Nebraska Association officer, most recently serving as the membership chair for several years. She worked hard to make sure everything was perfect, or as close as she could get to it. Cindy loved track & field, her family, and her friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Steve MorrisonSteven M. Morrison, 63, of Lincoln, passed away on February 19, 2018. Born to Dick & Joan (Nazerene) Morrison in Red Oak, Iowa, on 9/18/1954. Steven was a retired accounting consultant and was a member of Sheridan Lutheran Church. He was the director for master & youth track for the Cornhusker State Games, USATF master official, throwing coach for Lincoln East High School, track meet manager for UNL, UNL football statistician, founder of Lincoln Jets Youth Track Club. Family members include his wife Roberta; daughter, Jamie (Shane) Ligon of Lincoln; sons, Robert (Lesa) Morrison of Cortland, and Jeff (Dawnta) Morrison of Lincoln; grandchildren, James & Kaylee Ligon and Tatum Morrison; sisters, Lindy (Carey) Rolofson of Platte City, Mo., and Mardy (Mac) McKinney of Overland Park, Kan.; one niece and six nephews. Ruth White, a long-time Nebraska Association volunteer who most recently served as association 1st vice-president, has been named to the Husker Track & Field Officials Association Hall of Fame in recognition for her many years of service.(3/2/2017)
