Phil StinemanPhilip (Phil) G. Stineman, 78, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2020, at his home in Lincoln, NE surrounded by his family. He was born June 21, 1942 in Superior, NE to Clyde and Lois (Thompson) Stineman. Phil led a rich life filled with family, friends, a drive to succeed and to help others. He began his teaching and coaching career in 1964. In 1972, he began his real estate career in Lincoln, NE., ultimately retiring from Woods Bros Realty. Phil’s commitment to supporting young athletes led him to help form the South Lincoln Track Club in the 1970s. Once SLTC’s focus shifted to working with little kids ages 3 to 8, Phil became the founding head coach and president of the Lincoln Youth Track Club in 1987 to continue to work with the athletes ages 8 through 18. Jimmy SmithThe Nebraska Association is saddened to receive word of the passing of James E. “Jimmy” Smith. Jimmy was a long-time coach of the North Omaha Bears Track Club and was very active in the association during the 1980s and 1990s. Cindy DeSantiagoIt is with great sadness to report the passing of Cindy DeSantiago. Cindy was a long-time USATF Nebraska Association officer, most recently serving as the membership chair for several years. She worked hard to make sure everything was perfect, or as close as she could get to it. Cindy loved track & field, her family, and her friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Steve MorrisonSteven M. Morrison, 63, of Lincoln, passed away on 2/19/2018. Born to Dick & Joan (Nazerene) Morrison in Red Oak, Iowa, on 9/18/1954. Steven was a retired accounting consultant and was a member of Sheridan Lutheran Church. He was the director for master & youth track for the Cornhusker State Games, USATF master official, throwing coach for Lincoln East High School, track meet manager for UNL, UNL football statistician, founder of Lincoln Jets Youth Track Club. Family members include his wife Roberta; daughter, Jamie (Shane) Ligon of Lincoln; sons, Robert (Lesa) Morrison of Cortland, and Jeff (Dawnta) Morrison of Lincoln; grandchildren, James & Kaylee Ligon and Tatum Morrison; sisters, Lindy (Carey) Rolofson of Platte City, Mo., and Mardy (Mac) McKinney of Overland Park, Kan.; one niece and six nephews.
